As children of God, we are joined together by more than just our faith and love of Him. What we share goes deeper than sitting side by side in church or even supporting the same causes. We are linked hand in hand, indelibly, by our spiritual journey in faith. From the moment God places us on this earth, He has a plan for each one of His children. Though we all have a unique purpose in serving Him, and the trials we face may differ, we all must choose every day between the worldly and the spiritual. We all stumble, we all stray, and we are all tested tremendously. Every Christian, when they are called by God, embarks on a spiritual journey through the desert towards the Promised Land. The desert we journey through during our time on earth can be a cruel and unfair place, a testing ground, and most of all it is a spiritual wasteland. It is easy to feel lost and abandoned. Sometimes we feel like our wandering will never end, the journey is purposeless, or we will die of thirst before ever reaching any kind of Promised Land. But with Christ and His word, our spiritual thirst in this wasteland can be quenched with living water. We may not know where we are going, but He always does. With our Father as our loving shepherd, we can make it, and He will lead us to an oasis of green pastures and still waters.
