Conflict, dangers, and tribulations are inevitable elements of life, and we can all lose confidence when we are blind-sided by a confrontation, attacked spiritually, or ridiculed for our beliefs. In the face of these challenges, we may not know how to stand up for ourselves or defend ourselves, and this can easily make us feel defenseless and even frustrated. But, in our insecurity, sometimes all we need to do is quietly allow God to defend us. Though we often feel vulnerable under attack, we can take heart in knowing that our Father, an imposing and powerful man of war, will fight every battle for us. There is no conflict too heated, no opponent too great, no crisis to dire, and no injury too painful, for our loving yet fearsome Lord. He has drowned whole armies, conquered legions, raised the dead, and saved the lowliest of women, so surely, if God is fighting on our side, we are as undefeatable as He is when our will aligns with His. The more we are in step with Him, the more we understand how He will fiercely defend us and His plans for us. Looking around us, we can know that our protective Father guards us with angels, and deals harshly with those who wrong the apple of His eye. When we find ourselves under attack, physically, spiritually, or otherwise, our Father is poised to come to our defense like a loving parent. When we cling to Him in love, holding tighter in fear, He knows our hugs and lifts us up, and when we call out for help, He recognizes the voice of His child, and He rushes to help us as much as we will allow Him to intervene. Rescuing us from any attack or crisis, no matter how large or small, He reminds us of our right and our inheritance to His protection from any stone thrown or sword lifted against us. We must remember that His plans for us will not be thwarted by any weapon from any adversary. Our Father takes pride in our confidence in Him, and does not want us to have a spirit of fear, but rather a sure step in faith and joy. With the security of an all-powerful Father such as this, we have every reason to have confidence and peace as we walk on, no matter what conflicts meet us.
