We are Confident Because: our faithfulness will be rewarded

In a world where standing up for what is right can mean going against the grain and sticking out from the crowd, it is often difficult to maintain our confidence in our choices and actions. When we are persecuted for doing the right thing, speaking up for those who do not have a voice of their own, or staying firm in our beliefs, it can make us feel discouraged and alone. However, no matter how much we are mocked, we can feel secure in knowing that the more we are derided for truly doing what is right, especially in the name of our Father, the more our Lord takes pride in us and showers us with blessings. For every flippant remark when we stand up for the one who is being bullied, or rolling of eyes when we refuse to break our morals, we can be joyful rather than weary, because our faithful Father is encouraging us every step of the way, assuring us that we are accumulating gifts in heaven. Though leading a life in step with Christ may be counter to popular worldly culture, we should not be surprised when we are met with skepticism at our life choices, because walking the high road is far more difficult than falling by the wayside and treading the low road. We then must be prepared to encounter this, and take courage in knowing that ours is a just and upright God, who never fails to answer his children when they cry out to Him, pouring out mercy and love on His faithful servants. The moment He hears our calling, He answers with a comforting hand and encouragement. When we stretch out our necks in faith to unabashedly and firmly live for Him, and the love and honor He stands for, despite the derision we may face from those who do not understand, we will find that not only are our good works rewarded but that we have placed ourselves, body and soul, in the most just, gracious, and lovingly capable hands imaginable. Our Father watches our every step, knows our hearts intimately, and delights in seeing us proudly walk the walk of a true Christian soldier. Our good works will never go unnoticed, and our faithful Rock will always be there for us to cling to. He faithfully gives us the grace, courage and strength to keep our footing firmly on the narrow and upright path. No matter how we are doubted by the world, we can have the confidence to break the mold and proudly live our life for God, making our decisions following a gentle Father that loves justice and honor.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ‘Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.’” Matthew 5:10-12

“But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

“Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” 1 Peter 4:19

“Blessed are those who act justly, and always do what is right.” Psalm 106:3

“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you.” Isaiah 30:18-19

“The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he”. Deuteronomy 32:4
